PRISM is funded by a wide variety of churches, municipalities, civic organizations, foundations, private businesses and individual donors. With the help of our dedicated volunteers, PRISM is able to run its broad array of programs on a modest budget and achieve a truly exceptional benchmark for efficiency.
Remember the "Time Value" of money. A gift to PRISM today of a dollar amount or appreciated property such as closely held stock; real property with a low cost basis; art; and tangible personal property (if it is related to the work of the recipient charitable organization) is going to begin producing income today for PRISM's future.
When long-term property is given to a qualified charitable organization, it is deductible for its full fair market value, and the donor pays no federal capital gains tax on the appreciation in value. If the asset would otherwise be sold, now or in the foreseeable future, not having to pay the federal capital gains tax is in reality a tax savings. When combined with the charitable deduction, it provides a dual tax benefit. Tax regulations are subject to change, be sure to check with your tax advisor for how your donation will specifically impact your individual tax liability.

What Your Donation Does:
- A $25 donation will feed a family of four for one week
- A $100 donation will provide 10 families with personal case-work, focused on goal-setting and problem-solving.
- A $350 donation will help a parent keep a job by covering the cost of necessary car repairs
- A $750 donation will prevent a family from becoming homeless during a time of financial crisis
- A larger donation will do all of this and more!
