CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS: WORKING HAND-IN-HAND TO BUILD STRONGER COMMUNITIES
Community Civic Organizations support PRISM through donations of funds, goods and volunteer time. Their dedication to the communities in which they reside is borne out by their commitment to allowing PRISM to reach out to families in need.

How Your Organization Can Help

  • Funding Support: Many organizations' missions involve supporting community organizations. Your organization can rest assured that $.94 of every dollar donated goes directly into programs and services for families in need. PRISM is particularly grateful to the Plymouth Lions Club for their support through grant of $6,000 during 2006.
  • Event Sponsorship: If your organization is looking for a non-profit to "adopt," PRISM would be happy to work with you on planning and implementing a fund-raiser for us. The Robbinsdale/Crystal/New Hope Rotary Club sponsored PRISM's first annual Sleep Out for National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, helping us to purchase signage and matching the funds of one of their members who chose to sleep out during that week.
  • In-Kind Donations: PRISM welcomes donations of clothing, household goods, and more. The Boy Scouts recent "Scouting for Food" event brought in nearly 3,000 pounds of food one Saturday morning. Several other individual troops of Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Brownies have collected items for the food shelf.
  • Volunteer Opportunities: Time is valuable and PRISM relies heavily on its volunteers to keep things running. The Golden Valley Lions Club has volunteered at PRISM a number of times, lending their minds and muscles to any tasks necessary to keep us running smoothly.

If your organization would like more information about how to get involved with PRISM, please call our office at (763) 529-1350 Ext. 109 and ask to speak with Jess Kelly, Volunteer and Resource Manager.
